I still don't quite understand how that machine worked but my goodness it did seem to do its job!

1    What condition had you been diagnosed with/or what problems were you having?
I recently had a fall abroad, which resulted in severe bruising and swelling to the base of my back. Not wishing to use the medical services in Spain, and feeling confident that nothing was broken, I returned home to the UK at a weekend. However, on my return, the situation hadn't improved and a colleague recommended a consultation at Therapeople on Heathcoat Street. An appointment was duly made and I was seen on the Sunday morning.  Not being used to 'alternative therapies' I was not quite sure what to expect. Julie (the therapist) welcomed me to her room, and having just returned from - well - not a quiet part of Spain - the room was a haven of peace and tranquility! It felt completely non clinical, but 'professional', with an atmosphere that immediately put me at my ease. She carried out an extremely thorough and competent assessment and set about treating my bruised and painful back.

I felt very relaxed and was fascinated by the quiet and reassuring 'buzz' of the (what I now know as) Hivamat Machine. I actually fell asleep as she expertly and gently treated my lower back. After the treatment I immediately felt a sense of relief. The swelling felt 'softer' and my movement felt 'freer'. The bruising was still there of course and Julie treated that with some sort of gel, which I have to say does seem to have hastened the reduction of the bruising as I write this five days later.

I now feel well on the way to recovery and very happy to recommend 'Therapeople' (and Julie in particular). I still don't quite understand how that machine worked but my goodness it did seem to do its job! A thoroughly professional service....
