Haematoma

The following is an account of my husband's treatment with DEEP OSCILLATION

After a surgical procedure to repair an inguinal hernia, a huge haematoma appeared directly under the scar causing swelling of the testicles and the scrotum became O.S and black. The surrounding tissue was badly bruised and everywhere around the area was very painful.

The haematoma was painfully aspirated three times but to no avail as it just came straight back. It was suggested that further surgery may be required but reluctant to go back under the knife again; my husband left hospital and put his trust into the Hivamat.
 
Day One We started with two thirty-minute sessions daily and from the very first
session he felt pain relief.

Day Two    The colouring of the scrotum changed from black, back to flesh colour.
 
Day Three    Bruising had greatly reduced
 
Day Four    The haematoma had softened and started to seep from an opening in the
wound; a dressing was placed over the area to help drain the fluid away.
 
After a week the haematoma had reduced and the swelling of the testicles and scrotum had significantly lessened.
 
Week two; all the bruising had disappeared, and the Hivamat was still giving pain relief aiding a restful pain free sleep
 
Week three; we are using the Hivamat once a day for thirty minutes. The wound has healed and the scar tissue is minimal and soft.  Pain is less and mobility is greatly increased.
 
The Hivamat can be used from day one post surgery and is unheard of so far in the UK. I do hope PhysioPod can change this; it is a wonderful, easy, “hands on therapy” which will make a huge difference to patient recovery post surgery
