Christine Talbot SRN. Lymphoedema and Bowen Practitioner and PhysioPod UK

Christine first met PhysioPod UK at a talk/demonstration of Deep Oscillation in Bridport, Dorset in 2009. A wonderful working relationship ensued with a great friendship that still goes strong, over 12 years, with regular weekly contact.

Christine has given talks, arranged patient gatherings for PhysioPod to meet her patients, which initially began in her home, moving to larger premises as more patients wanted to meet the sisters whose bold steps to bring the therapy into their lives have changed their quality of life for the better.

TREATMENT PROGRESS OF NON-HEALING LEG ULCER WITH UNIQUE APPROACH ...

A lady in her seventies presented with a small leg ulcer just above her left lateral malleoli, it was quite deep, moist and with a faint familiar odour, this was a repeat injury ironically occurring in exactly the same spot and caused in exactly the same way as a previous ulcer some years ago

Butternut Squash Related Trauma

A sharp knife wound was sustained when cutting a butternut squash, which left a deep gash in the web of the left hand between thumb and forefinger, causing a significant loss of blood. The patient was seen in a minor injuries clinic, the wound was cleaned and the hand assessed for range of movement and joint flexibility. It was considered a miracle the tendon had not been severed.

Caesarean Section Scar Analysis & Treatment Plan - THE SCAR BEYOND

In January 2021, PhysioPod had been contacted by a young lady in the East of England who was desperately researching/seeking reasons and treatment solutions to the intense musculoskeletal and nerve pain following her caesarean section nine months previously. At four months postpartum, Mrs M was getting back to normal taking her young girls out and so on, but suddenly, in September 2020 at five months post caesarean-section, she experienced a sudden sharp electrical shooting pain from the right hip area at the top right-hand side of the incision, down through the rectus abdominals down into the groin and genitalia

Canine Healing: Barbed Wire Tear Post Surgical Healing Boosted with Deep Oscillation Therapy

Jack a one-year old Springer Spaniel lives on a farm with his Mum Stephanie, his Springer brother Harold, two years old and his Grandpy Zak, nearly fourteen.  They are surrounded by open farm land with lots of interesting and varied scents which are investigated at high speed. 13th March 2021: Whilst out walking, Jack became entangled in barbed wire, Mum Stephanie saw it happen but Jack managed to extract himself and ran off apparently unhurt.  Later that evening laying on Mum for cuddles in his favourite splayed position, it was horrifyingly apparent the barbed wire had caused a significantly, long ragged tear in Jack’s groin.

Head Injury Healing with Deep Oscillation and Low Level Laser Therapy

"My three-year-old Grand Daughter tripped and fell badly whilst rushing downstairs for bedtime stories to watch ‘Hushabye Lullabye’ on CBeebies, hitting her lateral left forehead on solid skirting, splitting open the skin to reveal bone.  The wound bled profusely and she was taken to A&E for head injury assessment and repair.  Following her initial shock and tearful outburst she soon became very chatty and involved in her drama so there were no neurological concerns."

Lymphoedema Responds Favourably to Deep Oscillation and a Wholistic Treatment Approach

In 1994, aged 37, Mrs R was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis; her sister is also affected and is wheelchair bound. Mrs R experienced a loss of clear vision, a loss of balance, her legs became weak with a loss of power to her left leg and a loss of neuro transmission to her right leg.  The symptoms worsened with stress related attacks causing increased fatigue, numbness to the right hand, bladder hyperactivity with frequent urinary tract infections, less resistance to infection and a change in memory and concentration.  She was prescribed steroids and used to self-inject with Copaxone 2010 to 2014.  Advances in better medication, Fingolimod 0.5 mg daily (2014 to present day) have halted the progression of the disease and Mrs R was otherwise fit and doing well. In 2021, following her first COVID vaccination, Mrs R experienced pain in her inguinal lymph nodes..

Effect of Sea Urchin Sting in Lower Limb Primary Lymphoedema and adjunctive Self Care with the Magcell Microcirc Device

The following article and patient photographic diary shows the healing of a wound using a combined treatment approach of initial standard care for wound healing: oral antibiotics, MLD DLT, laser and as an adjunct, a MAGCELL® MICROCIRC (pulsed electromagnetic field therapy), which was carried out by the patient at home between 17th March 2020 and 10th May 2020, for up to 30 minutes daily, with nightly self-bandaging and elevation of foot in the daytime when possible..

What Has Changed In 20 Years Of Lymphoedema Management:

"The internet has provided the greatest advance in highlighting and bringing to public awareness the conditions of Lymphoedema, developing international opportunities through networking for support, information and a sharing of experiences and treatment options. Sixteen years ago, when I first trained as a Lymphoedema Practitioner, Lymphoedema was relatively obscure and unknown but still prevalent in all its presentations, leaving many sufferers alone and isolated, shameful and guilt-ridden with blame heaped upon them through ignorance and disregard. For those it was, and still is, a life sentence.

DEEP OSCILLATION® therapy appears in 'Lymphline' Spring 2011 Issue

“Since purchasing the Hivamat 200 in November 2009 I have found it a remarkable piece of ingenuity; very simple to use, deeply effective on a multitude of conditions from tissue softening, reduction of limb volume, improving circulation, scar management, wound healing and reducing pain and disability. I feel it has revolutionized the way in which I treat the Lymphoedema patients in my care and now a couple of my patients are selfmanaging with the personal unit simply because they have been amazed at the results that have been achieved. They are now treating themselves in their own home and self managing their condition day to day. I feel this is very self empowering for them and as a result their appointments are not as regular..

Patient Gatherings organised by Christine

A Special Patient Gathering To Celebrate Deep Oscillation Being In The UK & Ireland for Ten Years With Seven Patient Video Interviews

On Saturday 2nd February 2019, a very snowy Winter's day, PhysioPod® UK travelled to Dorset to attend a special gathering of her patients, which was held in their honour at Stoborough Village Hall. Christine Talbot, MLD DLT Lymphoedema Practitioner in Wareham had asked PhysioPod to attend and for them to meet her patients. Seven of the fifty plus attending were interviewed by Dave MacDonald of Silver Island TV. They gave very honest feedback of their Lymphoedema and the treatment they had received from Christine Talbot with MLD and Deep Oscillation Therapy combined.

The Interviews

Seven ladies agreed to talk openly about their Primary or Secondary Lymphoedema to Dave McDonald of Silver Island TV and about the difference that treatment with MLD and Deep Oscillation with Christine had made to their condition and the quality of their lives.
