A sports injury expert in the district has become the first in his field in the East Midlands to offer a new pioneering therapy.
......The 32-year-old, from North Kilworth, who has more than 10 years’ experience in sports therapy, said: “Deep oscillation is an ingenious technique and I feel privileged to be a practitioner associated with this unique therapy in the UK.
“It works on everything from aches, strains, sprains, inflammation and post-operation trauma as well as showing great results in conditions such as lymphedema and fibro myalgia. Unlike a sports massage, which although effective, can be uncomfortable for the client, the sensation of deep oscillation is light, gentle and pleasant whilst delivering greater results.”
It has also been endorsed by super-middleweight world champion boxer Carl Froch for its ability to aid faster regeneration after training and traumatic injury.
Gail Bellingham, from Harborough, who works at the town’s FitZone gym and regularly visits Mr Pickering’s clinic, said: “I use Joe because he has magic hands which leave my back feeling loose and pain free. I could definitely feel the difference with the new equipment, it felt amazing.”
Mr Pickering, who is a physiotherapist for the Leicestershire and Rutland County FA under-16s and under-18s squads, added: “Whether you’re the next Rory Mcllroy, Andy Murray or Chris Froome, train hard, practice well but allow your boday recovery time and if you do pick up an injury, the PhysioPod, will sort you out.”
