DEEP OSCILLATION®, as opposed to externally applied, mechanical forms of massage therapy (e.g. vibration acting on the skin surface), works through the entire tissue layers, including the connective tissue, to a depth of 8 cm (Solangel Hernandez Tapanes, MD, MSc, 2010). Delivered via the vinyl-gloved hands of the Practitioner as a massage, the biologically effective oscillations work in the tissue segment undergoing treatment.
DEEP OSCILLATION® is a non-invasive, non-traumatic treatment which is very well received by patients. Because of its gentle application, it is a unique treatment for acute and chronic injury and day one post-operative. Clinically proven effects include significant pain reduction, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, detoxification, oedema reduction, haematoma reduction and support of the wound healing process. Unlike other treatments, Deep Oscillation can be applied over metal pins and plates. It is also safe over breast implants and prosthesis.

Personal Profile
"I have always been interested in sport; I made up in enthusiasm for what I lacked in talent!
In 1998 a trip to The Australian Institute of Sport sparked an interest in biomechanics and how the human body moved. I studied at the University of Greenwich, graduating in 2001 with a Fitness Science degree. Whilst deciding which way to proceed with my degree, I took some time out to do a Ski Instructors course in Whistler, Canada. Following a fall, I had my first experience of a Sports Massage and I haven’t looked back since. Upon my return, I enrolled on a Sports and Remedial Massage course with the London School of Sports Massage, qualifying with distinction in 2003.
I ran a successful practice from two health clubs in Essex and massaged at several events nationwide, including the Bath Half Marathon and the London Triathlon.
In 2005 I was given an opportunity to emigrate to Australia, so I sold my practice and went on an adventure. Whilst overseas, I gained the Australian equivalent of my massage qualification, a Certificate IV in Sports and Remedial Massage.
I took some time out to start my family. At the same time I was pregnant with my son, I decided to expand my portfolio and became a Certified Infant Massage Instructor with the Australian Chapter of the IAIM.
2012 was the most amazing year, returning home to the UK with my family and settling back into life here. I was fortunate enough to be a part of the Jonathan Betser Legacy Project. I provided seated chair massage to the world’s media at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games; the team collectively provided over 3,600 treatments and raised over £30,000 for the Isabel Hospice. Being part of this fantastic team of professionals motivated me beyond belief to return to my love of Sports Massage.
As part of my ongoing thirst for knowledge in 2014, I became certified as a RockDoc (enabling me to use and apply Rocktape, kinesiology / athletic tape, to improve performance, enhance rehabilitation and encourage movement. In July 2016, I upgraded my massage qualification to a BTEC Level 5, one of the highest BTEC qualifications for Sports Massage, which was introduced in 2010. In December 2016, I expanded my portfolio by becoming a certified and licensed Medical Acupuncturist. Also known as Dry Needling, it is similar to Acupuncture found in Traditional Chinese Medicine. However, it is used to alter neurological signals to the brain, eliciting a response that aids muscle relaxation.
In 2018 I became a Certified ScarWork Therapist, qualifying in the techniques developed in the USA by Sharon Wheeler. This form of therapy has blown my mind. The touch is very different from Sports Massage but brings about massive changes to the detrimental effects of scars. Improving movement, function, pain and appearance. I work a lot with breast cancer patients post-surgery, caesarean section scars, and other abdominal scars. This has led me to more courses!! I am currently working towards my Certificate in Integrated Myofascial Therapy as well as my Advanced Level 2 Pregnancy Wellness Practitioner and Advanced Level 2 Post Natal Wellness Practitioner.
Life for me is mainly centred around my family, but I still have a passion for SCUBA diving, skiing, Pilates, OCR events and fun runs. I completed my first triathlon in 2017 and followed that up with another in 2018; this time, the children joined in too! Recently, with encouragement from my Boot Camp friends, I took part in the 2019 Brentwood Half Marathon, it had been 22 years since my last Half, and I was pleased to say, with the help of my friend who literally towed me up the final hill, I completed it in exactly 2 hrs 30 mins!"
