"Making it easier to search and shop for the fashion you love and the function you need"

We all have those go-to brands we trust—whether it’s the dependable quality of John Lewis, the timeless staples at M&S, or the well-priced finds at TU at Sainsbury’s. But even with our favourite stores, finding clothes that truly work for our bodies and lifestyles can sometimes feel challenging. Imagine if these brands made it easier to discover clothing that isn’t just stylish but also meets your specific needs—all without compromising personal taste. A little extra help navigating the fashion landscape could make all the difference.

The Problem with Adaptive Fashion

Niche adaptive fashion brands have made strides, but they often come with limitations: smaller selections and designs that don’t always align with your personal style. More importantly, as so many women we've interviewed have told us, these brands inadvertently create a feeling of being 'othered' when all they truly want is a little extra support in finding clothes that work for them.

On the other hand, mainstream brands are starting to offer tools like TrueFit or sizing guides to help with fit, but they don’t address the deeper needs of women looking for clothing that’s easier to wear, comfortable for sitting, or gentle on the skin. Sizing alone doesn’t solve these challenges.

That’s where StyleAbility comes in.

A Smarter Way to Shop: Our Five Filters

StyleAbility is here to bridge the gap between function and fashion. We’re working with high street retailers to integrate accessibility into mainstream shopping, making it easier for women to discover clothing that works for them without sacrificing style.

Our solution will allow users to filter clothing by five key needs:

  • Easy Dressing – Clothing that’s simple to put on and take off, with features like magnetic closures or front-fastening designs.

  • Easy On/Off—Perfect for those with dexterity challenges, including options with larger zippers, pull-on designs, and stretch fabrics.

  • Seated-Friendly Fashion—Styles designed to look great and feel comfortable whether sitting for long periods or using a wheelchair.

  • Prosthetics-Friendly—Pieces with adaptable fits, hidden openings, or softer seams to work comfortably with prosthetic limbs.

  • Sensory-Friendly—Clothing made with soft fabrics, flat seams, and tag-free designs to prevent irritation.

By working directly with retailers, we’re making it easier to shop for fashion that doesn’t just fit your size—it fits your life.

How StyleAbility Can Help You

StyleAbility aims to help take the guesswork out of shopping for clothing that fits your personal needs. Instead of spending hours searching multiple websites or settling for clothing that doesn’t quite work, our platform helps you quickly find functional and stylish fashion, all from your favourite mainstream brands.

Targeted reviews and recommendations will help you discover clothing that other women with similar needs and preferences love and find pieces that have been tried, tested, and highly recommended for specific comfort and accessibility requirements.

We’re not reinventing fashion—we’re making it more accessible.

StyleAbility: Changing the Way Women Shop

We were fortunate to win funding to develop this solution, and we’re now working closely with retailers to bring it to life. Our mission is simple: to empower women to shop for the fashion they love and the function they need without limitations.

Style isn’t about compromise but about finding what makes you feel good. If you’ve ever struggled to find clothing that works for your needs, we’d love to hear from you.
