Referrals

GP referral is required or telephone St. Catherine’s Hospice to ask for advice. The Lymphoedema Nurse Specialists will contact you to arrange an appointment.

Following assessment, a management programme could include all or any of the following:

1  A detailed explanation of the cause of the condition.

2  A therapy programme which may include skincare, exercise, bandaging, compression therapy, manual lymphatic drainage with DEEP OSCILLATION® where appropriate, self-massage, dietary advice

3  Information and advice about what could make the swelling better or worse.

4  How to maintain the reduction in swelling once this has been achieved.
