scars and deep oscillation

8 cm Deep-Acting Tissue Permeation: Rhythmic electrostatic impulses permeate deeply—up to an 8 cm depth of action—through the skin, connective tissue, fat, and muscle to reach deep lymphatic structures. This gentle action mobilises deep-seated swelling, fluid build-up, and systemic congestion that traditional manual massage cannot easily or comfortably resolve.

Gentle, Non-Invasive, and Pain-Free: Because this patented therapy is entirely non-traumatic and requires no downward physical pressure, it provides a profoundly relaxing and soothing experience. It is exceptionally comforting and highly tolerated on tender, highly sensitive, or recently operated tissue.

Early Intervention: The non-invasive, athermic nature of the pulsed electrostatic field means it can be safely introduced immediately after acute injuries or from an early stage post-operatively. This early care actively supports rapid pain relief (analgesia), accelerates the absorption of bruising and swelling, and boosts the body's natural healing process.

Comprehensive Swelling & Scar Management: It is highly effective for targeting complex, dense surgical scar tissue, chronic oedema (swelling), post-operative fluid retention, and radiotherapy-induced fibrosis. The therapy softens tissue, eases muscle stiffness and hypertonicity, and restores overall range of motion and tissue flexibility.

How the Therapy is Delivered

The treatment is applied with complete comfort and safety. Rachel can deliver these therapeutic oscillations directly through her hands using hygienic, vinyl-gloved massage movements, or via a hand-held applicator guided smoothly over the target tissue

Specialist Focus: Feet and Ankles

ankle recovery

Feet and ankles are Rachel's particular area of professional focus and passion. Recovery in this complex anatomical region is too often left to its own devices after standard medical cast-removals or surgeries end.

Swelling and restrictive scarring following foot or ankle surgery, a complex fracture, or a severe sprain can linger for months or years, causing chronic discomfort and altering how you walk. Experienced, gentle, and knowledgeable hands can make a profound difference to how the joint moves and feels, yet it is an area in which very few therapists specialise. Rachel provides targeted, calm, and knowledgeable support to help restore normal mechanics, relieve chronic stiffness, and get you feeling like yourself again.

Rachel’s Qualifications & Specialised Clinical Toolkit

Rachel has trained with some of the most respected and prestigious names in lymphatic and scar rehabilitation, developing a highly specialised clinical toolkit to address your recovery from multiple angles:

BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing: Grounded in formal medical science and clinical safety, enabling seamless, professional collaboration with your existing healthcare consultants, surgeons, and GPs.

Dr Vodder Method — Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) up to Level 3: Certified in the internationally recognised, precise, and rhythmic Dr Vodder MLD method. This exceptionally gentle technique stimulates natural lymphatic pathways to clear tissue congestion, treat chronic lymphoedema, and reduce post-operative swelling.

ScarWork (Sharon Wheeler) & Restore Scar Therapy: Highly specialised, manual techniques designed to treat surgical scars that feel tight, thick, raised, numb, or restrictive. This approach is highly effective for both brand-new surgical scars and scars that are decades old, helping to restore normal tissue mobility, elasticity, and sensation.

Deep Oscillation® Therapy: Internationally patented, non-invasive electrostatic field therapy. Rachel guides a gentle, pulsing electrostatic field that permeates up to an 8 cm depth through skin, connective tissue, fat, muscle, and lymph vessels to soften fibrosis and accelerate drainage.

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT): Advanced, non-invasive light-based therapy that works safely at a cellular level alongside other physical modalities to support deep tissue recovery and reduce inflammation.

Kinesiology Taping: Dynamic, flexible elastic taping applied strategically to the skin over joints and muscle groups to support natural biomechanics, ease tension, and assist lymphatic drainage.

About Rachel Clarke

rachel clarke

Rachel’s clinical practice is built on a deep foundation of medical and rehabilitative expertise. Holding a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing alongside specialised experience in lymphoedema management, Rachel transitioned into specialised therapy out of a fascination with the often-overlooked phase of recovery.

She specialises in what happens to the body after an operation, fracture, or sprain once the surgical wound has fully closed, but the physical remnants—such as stubborn swelling, tightness, joint restriction, and tenderness—remain.

Rachel’s treatment philosophy is centered around gentle, highly tailored care. Every session begins with a comprehensive, professional assessment to ensure that the chosen techniques are completely safe and aligned with your body's needs. Rachel works collaboratively alongside your medical team, consultant, or GP, ensuring that her care complements and supports your official medical pathway rather than replacing it.
