PhysioPod® UK Review The Second Lymphoedema United Regional Roadshow
The second Lymphoedema United Regional Roadshow proved to be an incredibly empowering and successful event, bringing together over forty delegates at the spectacular new Moya Cole Hospice to share experiences and expert advice. Alongside excellent industry demonstrations and £325 raised for the hospice, Mary and Julie's engaging "Two Ronnies" interview-style presentation on Deep Oscillation was a particular highlight that resonated wonderfully with attendees.
On the 19th of May, we had the absolute pleasure of attending the second Lymphoedema United Regional Roadshow in Manchester. We must start by giving a huge amount of praise to the event's organiser, Matt Hazledine of Lymphoedema United, for putting together such a fantastic and empowering day!
The event took place at the brand-new Moya Cole Hospice in Heald Green, which had officially opened its doors just a week prior in May 2026. The purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility replaces their 1971 building to deliver modern specialist care. It features a bright 21-bedroom inpatient unit with private terraces, and a greatly expanded "Being You Centre" dedicated to outpatient counselling, complementary therapies, and rehabilitation.
We want to extend a huge thank you to Fiona Sanderson and the hospice team—who have been using DEEP OSCILLATION® for several years—for the superb building, meeting facilities, and amazing catering. In fact, the food was absolutely amazing; I even commented to Julie that it was like a posh wedding reception buffet! We must also give a special thanks to Julie Kenyon from The Christie (a user of Deep Oscillation for 10 years) for all her help. The room itself is a spectacular place for meetings, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a venue. Light, airy, comfortable and spacious.
For our part, we decided to try something a little different. Explaining the intricate science and mechanics of Deep Oscillation can sometimes be a bit difficult and heavy. To make it more accessible, we opted for a dual presentation in which Julie interviewed me, Mary. It turned out to be such a fun and engaging way to present the therapy! Adding to the entertainment was our choice of wardrobe. As you can see in our recently uploaded picture, we deliberately planned to turn up in identical 1940s-style dresses in a nod to our late Mum, who loved that era of fashion. Our matching outfits sparked a lot of laughter, and we have also apparently now earned the affectionate nickname "The Two Ronnies"!
We were thrilled to receive some lovely post-event feedback from an attendee who wrote: "Thanks for a very informative presentation and details of my local therapist, much appreciated". The talk clearly resonated, as one lovely lady even purchased a Deep Oscillation unit at the event, which is being sent out to her this week so she can begin her at-home management.
The rest of the roadshow was equally brilliant, with over 40 delegates coming together to share their experiences. Alongside PhysioPod®, attendees enjoyed presentations and product demonstrations from other fantastic industry partners, including L&R, Daylong, Haddenham, Lympha Press, and Jobst, complete with plentiful goody bags.
The 'Meet the Experts' panel—featuring Fiona Sanderson, Julie Kenyon, Pixie-Victoria Sayers, and Cheryl White—was also exceptionally well-received. The panel did a brilliant job explaining the importance of compression, skincare, massage, and a healthy lifestyle for self-managing lymphoedema, and answered a wide variety of questions during an engaging Q&A.
Importantly, the hospice relies on community support and needs to raise £20,000 every single day to continue providing its excellent, free care to the Greater Manchester community. We are so incredibly proud that the roadshow successfully raised £325 for the Hospice through ticket sales and donations, supporting them in this wonderful new building.
It was a truly empowering day of community, education, and shared experiences, and we are so grateful to have been a part of it!
