Orla Gallagher is a Registered General Nurse (RGN) and a Tissue Viability Nurse (TVN) with a highly specialised clinical background. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Tissue Viability and Wound Management, as well as Postgraduate Diplomas in Intensive Care and Gerontology. As the founder of Helios Clinic in Clonakilty, Co. Cork, Orla provides evidence-based, personalised care with a specific focus on advanced postoperative care, scar therapy, and comprehensive wound management.

Lymphoedema and Oedema Management: As a certified Lymphoedema Therapist trained in the Casley-Smith method, Orla offers Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT). Her comprehensive treatment plans include clinical Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), compression therapy, targeted skin care, and self-management education. She frequently assists patients in managing primary and secondary lymphoedema, lipoedema, and post-surgical swelling and provides symptom relief for conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraines, and venous ulcers.

Specialist Scar Therapy: Orla is a highly accredited Scar Therapy Practitioner. She trained at the prestigious UK Restore Scar Therapy School and has completed specialised one-on-one training with HLP Therapies—the UK's leading experts in innovative scar management. She uses advanced scar massage and fascia release techniques to soften fibrosis, improve flexibility, and reduce pain and tightness. Her expertise covers a wide range of scars, including C-sections, joint replacements, trauma and burn scars, hypertrophic and keloid scars, and post-cancer treatment scars. Demonstrating her commitment to continuous professional development, she is also a certified Advanced Post-Op Specialist through The Aftercare Academy and is currently advancing her clinical skillset by studying Breast Cancer Rehabilitation with Klose Training.

Wound Care and Patient-Centred Practice: In addition to her clinic-based services, Orla provides expert wound care tailored to individual needs, routinely treating complex surgical wounds, chronic wounds, and leg ulcers. To ensure her care is accessible, she offers evening appointments at the Helios Clinic and provides mobile home visits in the local area for elderly or housebound patients who require gentle, targeted care for chronic wounds.

For the utmost peace of mind and safety of her patients, Orla is fully Garda-vetted (the Irish equivalent of a DBS check) and holds an up-to-date Child Safety First certification.
