New Ankle Sprain Rehab Comparison
This 2024 Bulgarian dissertation investigates the effectiveness of treating ankle sprains. The study randomly assigned 120 patients to three groups:
- a standard "PRICE" protocol group,
- a deep oscillation therapy-only group,
- a combined "PRICE" and deep oscillation group.
Researchers compared the groups' outcomes, measuring pain, swelling, range of motion, and functional ability over three time points.
The key finding was that the combined therapy significantly outperformed the "PRICE" protocol alone, demonstrating superior improvements in all measured parameters.
The study concludes that this combined approach offers a more effective and potentially faster recovery from ankle sprains, reducing the risk of long-term complications.
