Now offering DEEP OSCILLATION® in Clinic

How DEEP OSCILLATION® Helps

In her advanced clinical practice specialising in lymphatic clearance, post-surgical recovery, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, Laura integrates DEEP OSCILLATION® as a gentle, supportive clinical adjunct. This non-invasive manual therapy utilises a low-intensity, pulsed electrostatic field that operates on the biophysical phenomenon of the Johnsen-Rahbek effect.

During application, a gentle, rhythmic electrostatic attraction and release phenomenon is generated within the tissue layers, inducing "endogenous tissue micro deformations." These microscopic changes are produced entirely within the tissue environment with minimal mechanical load and without requiring significant downward physical pressure. Because the soothing effect is generated internally, it offers an exceptionally gentle, well-tolerated treatment with an excellent safety profile, even for highly sensitive, painful, or recently operated tissues.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) & Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy (DLT)

Gentle Lymphatic Decongestion: Rhythmic electrostatic pulses support natural lymphatic pathways to assist in the gentle clearance of stagnant interstitial fluid. Under specific conditions, biophysical tissue interactions have been reported at depths of up to approximately 8 cm, making it a highly effective tool for managing both primary and secondary Lymphoedema and Lipoedema.

Tissue Softening: The therapy is designed to support the softening of fibrotic or congested tissues, improving overall tissue pliability and reducing the heavy, tired sensation in affected limbs.

Compression Support: This therapy complements multi-layer lymphatic bandaging and compression garment wear by maintaining optimal tissue softness and comfort between fittings.

Pre- and Post-Operative & Aesthetic Recovery

Rapid Fluid and Bruising Reabsorption: Early biophysical interaction supports the reabsorption of acute post-surgical swelling, congested fluid, and deep bruising, which are common after general, orthopaedic, and aesthetic/cosmetic procedures.

Targeted Scar Modulation: By encouraging early tissue mobility and softening, the treatment supports healthy scar pliability at incision sites, helping to prevent restrictive subcutaneous adhesions and promoting optimal cosmetic and structural remodeling.

Non-Invasive Pain Modulation: The gentle mechanobiological interaction is designed to soothe local pain receptors and reduce tenderness, contributing to significantly improved tissue comfort and allowing clients to move earlier and with greater ease.

Oncology Support (Post-Cancer Care)

Adaptive, Low-Pressure Care: For individuals recovering from cancer treatments, the electrostatic field delivers therapeutic benefits with an exceptionally light, comforting touch. This eliminates the risk of heavy mechanical shear stress, providing a safe, soothing, and deeply relaxing option for highly sensitive skin and compromised lymphatic structures.

Sports Massage & Deep Tissue Rehabilitation

Musculoskeletal Relief: Rhythmic attraction and release cycles generate a soothing effect within the muscle and fascia, helping to reduce stiffness, alleviate muscle soreness, and relieve deep-seated tension.

Enhanced Recovery: By supporting tissue flexibility and local fluid clearance, it helps tired, fatigued muscles recover more quickly, restoring comfort and structural mobility without requiring painful or forceful manual pressure on sore muscle fibres.

Personal Profile

Laura Occhionero

Laura Occhionero is a highly qualified, multi-disciplinary manual therapist, the founder of The Massage Clinic (established in 2022), and an expert in over sixteen different therapeutic techniques. Fully trained to the prestigious Vodder Level 3 standard in Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy (DLT) and currently reading for her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at London Metropolitan University, Laura holds active professional memberships with MLD UK, the Sports Massage Association, and the British Lymphology Society, reflecting her absolute commitment to the highest standards of evidence-based clinical care.

Laura's deep passion for therapeutic work was born from her own personal recovery journey, when running injuries sidelined her training. Fascinated by non-pharmacological, complementary modalities that support the body's natural healing and injury prevention pathways, she has dedicated her practice to helping others find balance, relief, and restored function. Her clinical philosophy is centered on the profound, healing power of therapeutic touch—restoring equilibrium to the body, mind, and soul through meticulous, highly tailored treatment sessions.

With a rich clinical background spanning complex lymphatic clearance, post-surgical aesthetic recovery, oncology support, sports rehabilitation, and pregnancy massage, Laura combines deep anatomical knowledge with outstanding empathy. Recognising the value of home-based care for those with busy schedules or mobility constraints, she provides a highly professional mobile therapy service covering Cobham to Central London, alongside KT and TW postcode areas, in addition to her clinic locations at Kingston Upon Thames and Physio & More. By seamlessly integrating advanced, non-invasive technologies like Deep Oscillation alongside her exceptionally skilled hands, Laura delivers gentle yet clinically powerful treatments that support optimal recovery, comfort, and physical well-being.
