Joyful News From Janet!
The effervescent Janet shares details of her good news with the PhysioPod audience...
Well, here I am again!
Despite my "4 o'clock Friday” status (i.e. a rush job, thus a bit faulty, as some of you may remember?), I'm still thankfully enjoying the benefits of the excellent warranty that accompanied my dubious status. I am still ever grateful for the wonderful expertise and dedication of the NHS Teams, who tirelessly support and endeavor to maintain said warranty!
I will admit it has been a very demanding two years.
While joyfully celebrating my darling granddaughter's engagement, I let my guard slip a little, and the demon of COVID struck. Long COVID, breathing difficulties, and infections followed.
In December 2022, I was hospitalized for more than three weeks, spending two weeks in the ICU due to double pneumonia and sepsis. Yes, “lucky to be alive”!
The NHS Teams and Consultants provided me with beyond-exemplary care! Once again, I owe my life to them! I have written this fact and my “undying” thanks to all!
I was released into the equally exemplary loving care of my wonderful daughter and son-in-law, who tirelessly helped me regain strength and walk again! We all cried when I sat at the table and ate my first roast dinner!
Damage and scarring mean life is at a much slower pace now, and breathing is very laboured. But Hey! I'm still breathing!
My Mercedes had to go and in its place, a bright yellow, utilitarian Fiat 500L "Marg" because my daughter said she thought it resembled a big block of margarine!
Of course, as always, my wonderful little PhysioPod played its amazing part! I would like to express my gratitude to Mary and Julie for their invaluable assistance. However, the last 6 months have made it necessary to restrain its use, as a PET-CT scan in March revealed suspicious lesions in my lung. A follow-up scan has just joyously revealed that, although troublesome, it is not cancerous! Phew! My precious little PhysioPod was immediately back in use!
I was really delighted to see the well-deserved accolades that PhysioPod, Mary, and Julie received recently! It was especially good to read something so positive and inspiring!
People are currently facing challenging circumstances. The ravages of COVID-19, along with the daily news of wars, aggressions, violence, and gut-wrenching devastation, can be depressing and somewhat demotivating. Opposingly and hearteningly, these times have also focused and motivated lots of people, especially young people, to pay attention and raise awareness about mental health, well-being, kindness, the plight of animals, and preserving our precious planet! Many positive actions and remarkable achievements are taking place, with compassionate souls striving to enhance and uplift people's lives and organizations, while fostering an appreciation for the advantages of nature and the small things in life.
Friends and my NHS teams have complimented me on my positivity, bravery, and inspiration, but being so fortunate makes it easier for me to do so. I find true inspiration in those who uphold these qualities under far more challenging conditions.
I especially appreciate my incredible good fortune to live in a delightful environment, surrounded by nature, plants and wildlife, much-loved pets, and the constant love and support of my dear family. Every day, I relish the opportunity to witness the marvels of nature and the numerous stunning birds, delighting in their playful antics, especially the playful little Robin who frequently taps on my patio door!
Tiny wrens that sing so sweet and strong from their homes in our dense Fuchsia bush. Magnificent trees surround the rabbits, deer, foxes, toads, frogs, and stunning dragonflies.
Joy unlimited!! Fortunate indeed! Life...the brighter side!
