DEEP OSCILLATION® Therapy Reducing Swelling and Improving Mobility Post Surgery
"I broke my right femur on the 29th of October, 2024, after falling off a ladder. (The same leg that I previously broke in 1986, which at that time I had a dynamic hip screw inserted.) On the 31st of November, my surgeon removed the dynamic hip screw and implanted an intramedullary nail.
I stayed in the hospital for five days and was then discharged.
I have had slight swelling in both my legs before this injury and wear compression socks. The swelling after the operation was quite considerable, and the medical team felt it would go down in time. I felt that the swelling was inhibiting my recovery and sought to get advice from Sue Wright, who I have known for many years. I shared my concerns about the swelling, and she suggested the Deep Oscillation machine.
I then hired the machine from Sue, which I started using on the 19th of December. I started using it every day two to three times a day for half an hour each time up until January 27th. Certainly, on the daily basis that I used it, I found significant improvements in my ability to do my strengthening and flexibility exercises, and the swelling has stayed more consistently down. My range of movement always felt easier after initially using the machine before exercise. I am very pleased with the results and feel the oscillation machine has definitely aided my recovery so far."
