DEEP OSCILLATION® has been used in the UK on riding and performance horses with good effect, not only for cases of lymphatic incompetence, but also to speed up wound healing, tendon injuries, relieve fascial restrictions from overgirthing, saddle sores, promoting smooth formation of scar tissue, etc. It is used for Pre-Event Massage, increasing circulation, reducing muscular tension, improving flexibility and the delivery of nutrients. For Post Event massage; flushing out waste products have accumulated during an event and promoting fluid circulation, reducing inflammation.

Personal Profile

Alana Macartney (Laney to her friends!!) MSc BSc (Hons) is a fully qualified and insured McTimoney Animal Practitioner having graduated from the McTimoney College with a Master’s Degree in Animal Manipulation (Validated by the University of Wales). She holds a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science from Writtle College (Validated by the University of Essex) and is also qualified in Merishia Massage for horses and dogs. She is a member of the McTimoney Animal Association (MAA), the governing body responsible for setting high professional standards and maintaining a professional code of ethics.

Prior to becoming a McTimoney Animal Practitioner, Laney worked as a groom for a professional showjumper and also on British Horse Society approved training yards. She has always had a keen interest in animals from a young age and when not working can be found enjoying her own horses and dog. Laney thoroughly enjoys her job and is committed to enhancing the comfort, wellbeing and performance of horses and dogs as a McTimoney Animal Practitioner and has a particular interest in post injury/operative rehabilitation and core strengthening for both horse and rider.

MSc Animal Manipulation

McTimoney Manipulation is a gentle but highly effective technique which works to realign and balance the musculoskeletal system helping to restore health and movement, soundness and performance. McTimoney treatment is so effective because it identifies and treats the cause of the issue rather than just the signs. All animals will benefit from McTimoney treatment whether an elite competition horse or a happy hacker, a highly trained working or competition dog through to a much loved family pet.

Merishia Massage

Merishia massage is a hands on technique that combines massage with myofacial release and stretching and helps to relieve tension and ease muscles in horses.
