We are absolutely thrilled to share exciting news about a fantastic product we highlighted in our newsmagazine in Dec 2023: the innovative 6D Tape! We are particularly delighted that our longstanding friend and supporter of the PhysioPod business, Adam from Juzo, is now supplying and delivering training for 6D Tape in the UK for healthcare professionals.

The Six-Dimensional Power of 6D Tape

6D Tape is a patented, skin-friendly handle tape intended for physical therapy, lymphatic therapy, and active self-care. It differs from classic kinesiological tapes and enables a new type of tissue stimulation.

The product’s unique handles enable Six-Dimensional Activation, or 6D manipulation. This refers to the controlled, painless, and safe manipulation of tissue in six directions: along the X, Y, and Z axes, including rotation around the axis. The handles allow therapists or patients to mobilise the tissue by movements such as lifting, twisting, spinning, stretching, and pushing. This comprehensive manipulation is impossible with conventional therapeutic tapes.

Manipulation of the tissue activates the lymphatic system’s natural suction mechanism, creating a pressure differential and a pumping effect that stimulates flow in the lymphatic vessels.

Scientific Validation and Versatile Benefits

The effects and effectiveness of 6D Tape have been proven scientifically. A feasibility test using Near Infrared Fluorescence Lymphatic Imaging (NIRFLI) confirmed that manipulating 6D Tape handles increased lymphatic drainage in a healthy subject.

We last wrote about the specialness of this product in our newsmagazine dated December 2023, noting that for lymphatic indications and sports injuries, 6D Tape was certainly worth investigating. The theoretical mechanisms of the 6D Tape treatment are divided into six key areas:

6D Tape is designed to be highly skin-friendly.

• Material: The base tape material is unique, elastic, and skin-friendly, consisting of 98% cotton. It is elastic (130-140%) and imitates the features of the skin. It is breathable, hypoallergenic, and water-resistant, making it safe for showers, swimming, and saunas.

• Adhesive: The unique adhesive technology is skin sensitive. The patented, skin-friendly adhesive is hypoallergenic and latex-free. It is activated by rubbing the tape on the skin. This adhesive contours to the skin's surface, ensuring the skin's protective top layer remains intact when the tape is removed.

• Wear Time: Users can comfortably wear the tape for up to 10 days.

Active Self-Care: Empowering Patients

A core feature of 6D Tape is the support for active self-care. Patients can easily manipulate the tissue multiple times per day using the handles. This more frequent treatment increases the effectiveness of the therapy and improves outcomes.
