Achilles Tendonitis Resolved - British Masters Track and Field Championships Completed - Thanks to Deep Oscillation

On 26th August 2018, Martin White, a masters athlete and Personal Fitness Trainer completed the Men's 45-49 age group 200m at The Alexander Stadium, Birmingham. This was an amazing achievement, as Martin had reached the point where he had accepted he may never sprint again. This thank you note to PhysioPod detail just how Deep Oscillation made the difference in his recovery, where usual rehab protocols had not.

"I just wanted to say Thank you to you both, Mary and Julie, for your support and assistance in overcoming my recent injury.

As a masters athlete and Personal Fitness Trainer I am acutely aware of the importance of looking after my body to enable me to continue to perform to the best of my ability. So I was understandably devastated when at the beginning of June I had to call time on my athletics season due to very painful tendonitis in both achilles tendons.

I followed the usual rehab protocols but this time I just didn't seem to be making any progress. I even got to the point where I had accepted that I may not be able to Sprint again.

However, before I was willing to give up totally, I decided to contact Physiopod UK. Back in 2012 I used a deep oscillation personal sports unit to successfully treat a calf strain that I picked up one week prior to the World Masters Athletics Championships.

I began treating myself daily with 3 x 20 min sessions each leg on the achilles tendonitis programme. It was so easy to self treat and despite my achilles being very tender to touch the application requires very little pressure to be applied, so it made it easy to stick to the treatment protocols.

In conjunction to this, my good friend Dalton Powell, who is a fellow athlete and massage therapist also provided the treatment through vinyl gloves (above).

After one week I was able to jog, and after a further two weeks, I had resumed sprinting. So complete was the recovery that with only three weeks of Sprint training under my belt, I decided to compete at the British Masters Track & Field Championships. I duly competed in the 200m finishing 6th in my age category, which considering the severity of the injury and the lack of training I consider a minor miracle.

I am now enjoying a short break before resuming my sprint training and am already looking forward to next season.
If however an injury rears its ugly head a long the way, I know the first people I will be contacting is Physiopod UK

Thanks so much!"

Martin

Because of the non-invasive, non-traumatic, gentle nature of this therapy, very early possibilities of application are possible following injury and from Day One post operatively. Chronic conditions can also be worked upon with effective results.

DEEP OSCILLATION® is an internationally patented, proven technology based on the effects of creating an electrostatic field in the tissue of the patient. The handheld applicator also enables self-treatment. Visit the DEEP OSCILLATION® product range

The special structure of DEEP OSCILLATION® allows the creation of biologically effective oscillations in the treated tissue using electrostatic attraction and friction. In contrast to other therapies, these pleasant oscillations have a gentle and deep-acting effect on all tissue components to an 8 cm depth (through skin, connective tissue, subcutaneous fat, muscles, blood and lymph vessels).
