A Personal Invitation to Therapists Supporting Women with Lipoedema By Bel Hardman

"Through my own lived experience as a lipoedema patient, I’ve witnessed something both powerful and frustrating. Powerful, because there is a growing number of therapists and practitioners who genuinely understand lipoedema and are doing deeply supportive, meaningful work with women living with lipoedema. Frustrating, because many women simply cannot find them.

“Infographic titled Lipoedema Hub: Connecting the Community. It outlines the hub’s mission to provide free, trusted information, connect women with specialist therapists, and remove barriers to care. It also highlights directories, lived?experience guidance, and community resources, with simple heart and brain icons and a credit to Bel Hardman.”

Too often, women spend months searching for support and professionals who recognise and understand their condition. They rely on word of mouth, social media groups, and fragmented information to find therapists, practical tools, diagnosis pathways, and community support. The knowledge exists, but it is scattered.

I created Lipoedema Hub to bring that knowledge together into one central, accessible place.

Lipoedema Hub is a free, community-driven directory designed to connect patients with trusted therapists, supportive practitioners, helpful products, services, and resources. Its purpose is simple: to make it easier for women to find informed, compassionate support without the unnecessary barriers and lengthy search so many currently face.

If you are a therapist supporting women with lipoedema, including Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapists, Deep Oscillation therapists, lymphoedema therapists, or complementary practitioners, I warmly invite you to be listed in the Therapist Directory.

Listing is completely free, and it will always remain free for both therapists and patients. The intention is to remove barriers, strengthen visibility for therapists doing this important work, and help women access the support they need sooner.

In addition to the Therapist Directory, Lipoedema Hub is also building directories for diagnosis pathways, supportive products and tools, and community resources. These directories are informed not only by professionals, but also by the lived experiences of women navigating lipoedema day-to-day, creating a shared, trusted resource shaped by both clinical expertise and patient insight.

If you would like to be included, you can submit your details via the Get Involved page:

You are also very welcome to share Lipoedema Hub with your patients, so they can contribute their own experiences and access the growing range of resources once the directory is live. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected network of support for women living with lipoedema."
