I don't think any of us can say, with our hands on our hearts, that we haven't been touched by the diagnosis of cancer in some way, personally, a family member, a friend or colleague, some are lucky to come through it and others not.

Sadly in addition to overcoming Cancer, 1 in 5 breast cancer survivors develop Secondary Lymphoedema, a chronic complication of cancer treatment following treatment which is not spoken of often enough. For sufferers, this is a lifelong reminder of having had cancer and it can be stressful, uncomfortable and debilitating, severely reducing quality of life. Without cancer, secondary Lymphoedema from breast cancer treatment wouldn't feature in the picture either.

In my lifetime, I'd like to see a cure for Cancer and the only way I can see this happening is by raising the vital funds needed to enable important research to continue.

Coco and I will walk those 10,000 steps a day with purpose and pride, in the knowledge that all funds will help further enable the great work of Cancer Research UK.
