Personal Profile/Experience

Shona has professional equine experience spanning over three decades, which includes working with top show jumpers as a head groom gaining a wealth of experience. She has also worked with smaller private yards, with all types of horses in various disciplines. Shona gained BHS stage 2 & 3 Riding & Horse Care qualifications at the age of 18 which gave her the opportunity to work across the UK, as well as Europe travelling with competition horses. This is where Shona first became interested in the effects and benefits of equine massage therapy.  Shona is a fully qualified Equine Massage Therapist as well as a human Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist and is a full member of the Sports Massage Association. Shona is fully insured and trained in first aid. A passion for wanting to know how a horse's body works and improve its ability has really driven Shona to achieve  her qualifications. Studying human anatomy alongside this has really helped her understand the physical relationship between horse and rider.

Shona has also worked as Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist at a Rugby club in Surrey for 5 seasons & a club in Sussex for 2 seasons gaining lots of practical experience in managing and treating a variety of injuries
