About Dr Alison Merrick

After a career in medical research developing immunotherapies for cancers, in 2010 Alison qualified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapy, with the Austrian Vodder Schule, the world leader in clinical lymphatic therapies.

She has continued with her studies in the area of MLD/CDT with the Vodder Academy and has expanded her expertise purchasing a PhysioPod Hivamat and qualifying in Deep Oscillation and ScarWork™ Therapy.

Working in the private and voluntary sectors and with NHS referrals, Alison now has busy clinics in Keighley and Saltaire in West Yorkshire.

As a specialist therapist with Cancer Support Yorkshire she has been involved in therapy and advisory sessions, and continues to support clients during their treatments, with ongoing Lymphoedema, scar tissue problems and reconstructive surgery.

In addition, she works with clients enhancing and speeding up surgical recovery and healing from day one. She has broad experience in many areas of surgery including cancer, open heart, general, orthopaedic and cosmetic procedures, utilising MLD, Deep Oscillation and ScarWork . Increasingly Alison works with old scar tissue/adhesions and cording, releasing deep tissue restrictions, and optimising functional movement.
